By praying to Jehovah, you might be giving a non-existing or non-interested being permission to help you when that being doesn't want to or can't (because of not existing). By blessing something yourself, you program yourself for success, subliminal suggestion done right in the open to you by you.

I don't want to worship a God that.............
by oompa inwould kill billions of people for any reason.. would require family members to not speak to a member of their own family.. would require a parent to stone a child for being a bad boy.. would require probably millions of animals to be slaughtered and make smoke for him.. would let a rapist of a young girl have the privilege of marrying her.. would let mankind suffer for thousands of years to prove something to his heavenly creatures.. would let horrible "natural" tragedies occur, killing millions of people, when they don't have to happen.. would communicate to mankind by writing to them.....but not keep any originals around....like pyramids.. would want to be worshiped in the first place.....i just don't get it........................you can add your own if you want..........oompa.

I'm a skeptic, but I've gone ahead and done Wiccan blessings (NOT petitions) for this or that and it seems that with no more effort than normal, I've gotten excellent results, so much better than I've ever gotten from Jehovah. When I prayed to Jehovah like I was supposed to, if I got any results, they were extremely late or non-existant. I think sometimes that with do it yourself blessings, you are giving yourself the go ahead to succeed, and on some subliminal leve, you program yourself to succeed. It's possible.

1975 Letdown increasingly becoming topic of conversations among witnesses
by Meeting Junkie No More ini have noticed that more and more, witnesses seem to be discussing the 1975 debacle amongst themselves, and agreeing that it is amazing that witnesses as a whole are all still here and the world is still here, and their kids are now in high school, or married, or whatever.
they also seem to be discussing the importance of retirement plans, in direct contradiction to what cos and dos are spouting at the annual conventions.... the last time this happened was at a recent funeral, where another long-time witness had passed on.
the interesting thing was that a younger group were discussing this, and some of them weren't even around in '75!.

Then there will be those left over that say there are fewer on the road to life. They would use the mass exodus as a way to justify themselves. At least there would be a much better chance that all or some of our loved ones would get out then.

I've found something more effective than praying: swearing. When I lose my keys and then say a swear word, I find them within 2 seconds nearly every time. I'm searching for a while before I swear, though. It works for me.
The other side of the coin is that I could have found them without swearing. Nah!

Need your thoughts on the partaker numbers
by cultswatter inmany time this forum has solved many mysteries because we can put our collective brains together and form a so called super computer.. as you know i have been hashing the partaker numbers for over 1 year.
hashing and rehashing, trying to make sense of it all.
i feel the partaker numbers are grossly underreported especially since 1980. yet there are tell tale signs of the the published numbers as being authentic- a paradox .. let me refer to the partaker numbers as the "curve".. this curve shows a marked increase in partakers just after 1969 with a peak at 1975 showing the naturally expected response to the end of world prediction for 1975. so this part of the curve from 1969 to 1975 and even as late as 1977 looks very legit.
